Mallikharjuna Babu Kayala

Dr. Babu is the Vice Chancellor of Galgotias University, with a distinguished career in engineering education. Holding a B.E. in Industrial Production Engineering (1986), M.E. in Metal Casting Science (1988), and a PhD from Bangalore University (1996), he transitioned from industry to academia. His roles have included lecturer, Assistant Professor, and Professor at Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology and BMS College of Engineering, where he has served as Head of Department, Vice-Principal, and Principal since 2008.With over 25 years in teaching and administrative roles, Dr. Babu has guided 8 PhD scholars and published 50+ research papers. He has been involved in national and international academic bodies, including AICTE, NBA, and UGC, and is a Fellow of the Indian Industrial Engineers. As Principal, he led BMSCE to academic autonomy, achieved high NAAC and NBA accreditation, and drove innovative teaching and research initiatives. His leadership in the World Bank-sponsored TEQIP-I project earned a performance rating of 9.2/10.Dr. Babu has received several awards, including the Dr. S. R. Gollapudi Award, Dr. J M Mahajan Award, and Paul Harris Fellowship. He is recognized for his strategic planning, reform-oriented approach, and expertise in resource management, and is actively engaged on social media.
